Dry Cut-off
The Humboldt River was the life's blood of the emigrant wagon trains travelling through the Nevada desert. Water was scarce and the Humboldt River supplied that water. It was also the bane of the emigrant wagon trains. One had to fight swampy areas. So a short cut-off was established near present day Mill City. It is one of the best places to see original wagon ruts! Just be ready to share your experience with the local cows.
