Granite Point, Nevada

Granite Point is a forgotten name in Nevada, but it played a part in two significant historical events. First, it was the marker that the emigrant wagon trains used to head directly into the Nevada desert. Second, it was a Chinese railroad camp during the building of the transcontinental railroad. Granite Point is at the junction of the road to the Lovelock airport and old US Highway 40.
