Humboldt House

This was the oasis of the Nevada desert for early travelers on the Central Pacific cross country railroad. Trees, grass and even an orchard awaited the trains. It was a popular eating place for the train travelers. (Remember they didn't serve food in those days!) It is on an exit on Interstate 80, yet few people have ever stopped to enjoy the green!
