Lahontan City, Nevada

Francis Newlands had a dream. He wanted to turn the Nevada desert into a vast oasis. Thus the Newlands Project was born and the Lahontan Dam was built to harness the waters of the Carson River. However, building such a dam took men and this was int he middle of the Nevada desert. Hence Lahontan City came into existence for a few short years. You can walk on the old railroad siding!
