Come for the emigrant marker; stay for the railroad. You can find this stop in the "Emigrant Marker" boo,. But don;'t overlook the tracks used today or the old Central Pacific tracks. You can even find the rock culvert built in 1868 by the Chinese. And it doesn't hurt to spend a little time enjoying the cliff walls carved out by the Truckee River. The only problem, it really doesn't look like a meadows.
